Our "Homesteading" goal is to buy property (for now partner with homeowners who will rent to us) that is at least 4 - 5 bedrooms 2500 SqFt. 2 or more baths. We would make this available to 2 care receivers and 2 caregivers as tenants. this optimally would also have a pool and room for an exercise area. Each person would have a private room. It would include a very large kitchen family room, den and living room. The other goal is to build community first in home then by connecting several homes in the area so everyone can have activities like visiting, card and movie night BBQs etc. This presents a different opportunity only wealthy have seen a glimpse of in an assisted living. But here it's a real home with small numbers of real relationships. "People making plans" vs activity directors make schedules. For us, it is a better way of quality living. Family members can visit any time. Care givers have support in home. Everyone becomes a family unit not a bed number.
